Project 2000 While the recently launched national Tough On Drugs policy has recognised the true value of the project and begun to provide realistic support in providing services, Goldbridge must continue to encourage and rely on community support, as a vital link in developing and delivering programs.

Residential Treatment The role of "Goldbridge" residential services is to provide short-term placements where a range of therapeutic interventions and optimum learning opportunities are provided, for individuals seeking to maintain abstinence from alcohol/drug use and who need time to recover from an often chaotic way of living in order to take control of, and build more enriching, healthier, self-satisfying lifestyles. Within a framework of harm minimisation where the combined personal values of honesty, caring and respect provide a safe and dignified family-like atmosphere - the natural desire to learn is nourished and positive behavior changes and inner-personal growth are encouraged to replace chemical dependency in preparation for a return to independent community living where day-to-day and family responsibilities may be managed in a more appropriate and dignified manner. The residential facility in Southport provides homely accommodation for up to twenty five (25) individuals, and is situated close to some of the finest Gold Coast beaches and within easy walking distance from the central business district.

Transition Care Within the continuum of "Goldbridge" services, a number of community housing projects have been established which provide a transitional support base for individuals leaving residential care, and moving towards complete independent living. Since individuals are still in the relatively early stages of recovery maintenance, the co-operative living situation and family-like atmosphere encourages positive peer group interactions which are complemented by a comprehensive aftercare support program.
Community Access Program Provides non-residential support, counseling and education programs for individuals and family groups living in the Community, who aspire to achieve or maintain a lifestyle free from dependence on licit and illicit drugs.
Education Program A range of education programs are delivered to community, professional, and school groups, which seek to increase knowledge and change attitudes and behavior, which reduce alcohol and other drug use problems and their related difficulties.
