Position: Family Support Worker

Girija joined the Goldbridge Rehabilitation Services as a Family Support Worker in March 2017.  In this role, she supports Goldbridge clients in addressing their family-of-origin  and family-of-choice issues.  Girija offers individual counselling sessions to TC and Transition clients  and conducts seminars on specific family-related topics

Before joining Goldbridge, she worked as a counsellor in a non-profit organisation in Brisbane for clients with complex needs and mental health issues.  Girija completed her Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2017 after doing her Graduate Diploma in Counselling.

Girija speaks four languages and has worked over 7 years  in the Communities Sector in Australia as a Hindi and French interpreter.  She has a NAATI paraprofressional accreditation as a  Hindi interpreter.  Before coming to Australia in 2005, Girija worked as a French teacher and translator in India.  She has done Master of French Literature and Translation, Master of Computer Management and Bachelor of Commerce in India.
